D.I.Y Rock garden on wheels
Searching for ideas for my patio I came across this tutorial on how to make your own Rock garden on wheels using Echeveria.... I watched it several times 'Love the catchy music' and I could see this idea with pallets as half garden, half table or maybe even half bench at my own patio as well.

Moodboards | Feathers & Nomad details

Thursday, June 26, 2014

I wrote about the styling work of Karin Meyn before, see my post about her book and styling work here| Styling by Karin Meyn | Karin makes some of the most beautiful moodboards I have seen. In this one she used nomad details in fabrics and other objects inspired her to make the moodboard above where she also added chains with beads from clay and other natural elements.

On the second moodboards graphic lines and organic shapes are used. The contrast in objects makes things interesting, just like new color combinations. On this board thin threads create the graphic style while the feathers are more organic which creates the contrast in this composition.

1|2|3|4  | Post in partnership with hush

I have been really busy lately with a million different things, work-wise, in private and on the blog. So when Hush asked me to have a look at their A/W '13 collection, I got carried away a bit looking at the warm pyjamas... They make me dream of long nights of sleep and cozy autumn nights with French movies, blankets, candles and chocolate.
YES! I kinda like this time of the year when it is getting colder outside and I can hide away in thick shawls, winter coats and a warm blanket on the couch by night. How about you?

A last round of moodboards! you can still join till October 15 to make a change to win a Piet Hein Eek cupboard at the Histor website. Thanks so much to you who shared their moodboards with me and good luck!

The first moodboard is made by Silvana She called her concept 'Faded'
Inspiration: the faded and weathered wooden pieces Piet Hein Eek uses & Dip Dye. She would love to paint a cupboard with this technique.

Stephanie would like to see 'her' Piet Hein Eek cupboard in the kids room at home. Inspired by the J.Levau blog she made this children orientated moodboard in natural colors and a touch of black.

Totally different but coming close to my own moodbord is the moodboard by Celine of FrenchyFancy a French blogger who images her cupboard in black and white finished with golden details. A graphic, graceful and feminine universe !

Bieb... sent in this one and I just love it! Here theme is Grey... because she loves grace she writes. Her colors: Cyber, tin and white

From house to home, one cupboard at a time. A cupboard to store your things or to expose your life. Painted in white, cyber and tin Is what Antine emailed me. I Love the combination with these greys and white.

A moodboard by Suzanne The pink color represents warmth in your home she says. With opposite the fresh and cool gray / white Enriched by brass accents and green glass it will become a beautiful piece of art in my home
Colors:
Wit, Allerliefst en Damp.

Many more beautiful blogposts were made on the last night...
Laurence of La maison Pernoise made this post at her blog where you can see her ideas for the cupboard.

Some more eye candy from those who sent in their moodboards as well for the
Histor competition at 101 Karakters , You can still join !

I loved the one sent in by Johan, A Dutch blogger, we recently met at the Meet the blogger conference in Amsterdam. I always love to meet 'new' and enthousiast fellow bloggers. And I love to see more male Interior bloggers as there are not that many in the Netherlands.

Johan called his moodboard Opposites meet in the bedroom. Rebellious dreams without any border and seas of time. He would love the cabinet for his bedroom and emailed me his idea behind the moodboard. Johan: "I personal love opposites and extremes. Whether it’s color, material or patterns… I’m a person of extremes. Besides that I love to be a little bit of a rebel by crossing borders and looking for adrenaline. Dreams without borders and lots of time are my personal goals"
As for the colors: grey “Criterium”, white and a grayish blue called “Doordrongen"

Elv has chosen neutral base colors to make a mix of different shades of grey, sometimes a bit more white and sometimes a little black. Combined with some wood the cupboard will radiate peace which will fit perfectly in our interior she wrote. Her colors: white, grey (mus) and black

This moodboard called 'Rose Poudre'... is coming all the way from France and made by the lovely Valerie of the blog Atelier rue verte

Evie sent me the moodboard above to describe the character of 'her' cupboard, which she called 'Nature at home' . With faded colors and fine structures of plants and insects in pink, green and off-white.

picture credits: clock face chairs yellow pattern

A moodboard by Yzette! The Sun, a smile and a dream are the base for the character of her cupboard.
Colors: Banaan, Zonlicht wit and Sheherazade to dream away with or to wake up energized.

Let' s finish this post with a moodboard by Nathalie of the French blog La regarde et Maison
Color: white & inspiration: Ghost - Texture and White - Because she loves white and fabric with texture.

DIY for your home | A simple 3D moodboard fo your wall.

Friday, July 5, 2013

Some weeks ago I printed out lots of pictures fom my Pinterest albums for a new inspiration wall to go with my Neon letters. I showed them the other day :Inspire | new neon letters. I was planning a new wall for ages. But due a lack of time, lots of work and travelling, I never got to hang them on my wall. Despite my love for travelling and the great opportunities and blogger fun I got and am very greatfull for. I also loved to finally get back to some playing aroud the home.

I just love to make all kind of different moodboards and
I would love to see yours, so sent me your pictures! I'll make a long post with them and include yours. Just like I did when you sent me your blackboard walls and we had a blackboard weekend:blackboard weekend Are you up for a challenge??

Today I love to show you this moodboard and simple DIY idea by Marij of the
My Attic blog. Ain't is beautiful! Happy weekend!

For her bedroom wall she made this moodboard and instead of just adding the pictures to the wall, se used a couple of MDF panels and painted them in black before glueing some of the prints on them. I love the 3D effect she created this way. Pretty nice and really easy, but with a great impact don't you think?

INSPIRE | new neon letters

Thursday, June 27, 2013

After a few busy weekends I finally had some time to hang my new neon letters to the wall this last Saturday. It seems like ages ago I bought them from my sponsor Heel Wit and I couldn't really decide where to hang them. I first wanted to put them up in the living, but I love to change things around including the lamps very often and decided to hang them in the hallway.

My hall is pretty large and at one point even bigger, you can easily add a table or some cupboards there. It is the place where I keep a part of my magazines and books on the floor. I have plans for ages with this little wall and when I have the time to go to IKEA I will buy some cabinets to add to the wall and use them to display books and magazines.

For he moment I added one of my tables and because I am not sure yet how many space the cabinets wil take up. I conected the letters onto a piece of MDF that I painted white. Adding them to the wall afterwards was really easy.

When I have finished the rest of the wall I will add them directly to the wall.... I love the look of the black electricity wire against the white. But I think they woud really look great on a black wall as well! What do you think? And more important. what do you think of the word I choose in Neon?

Moodboard styling | Inspired by Lotta agaton

Wednesday, June 19, 2013

Therese Sennerholt made some new notebooks for
Lotta Agaton's shop and ofcourse Lotta did the styling for them. I love the picture above and looking at it it felt somewhat familiar as I have some of the same items.... The little old hammer, which was from my father, my mums scissor. The wooden measuring instruments and some more things. I thought it was fun to make my own 'moodboard' with them, although it looks a bit empty maybe.... Off now to theresa's shop to have a closer look at the books! Ohh and Lotta I am still waiting for that Styling classes !!

Pinterest Snapshots

Thursday, November 29, 2012

While looking at my Pinterest albums the other day, I accidentally made a snapshot while closing my phone... I thought it looked amazing and decided to make some more of my other albums and place them on my blog. I think it is a good reflection of what I like right now... to not forget and memorize my state of mind of the moment... Do you like them as much as I do?
Update: I recently made another post with more snapshots see them here
