Workspace inspiration | Little black suitcase crush

Hello this morning, how do you like my new 'workspace' corner... actually it is an old metal suitcase which I placed on a stool. Inside I keep my agenda's, and some of the most necessary 'tools'. I was bored with the wooden staircase in the kitchen and the other week I styled this little corner instead. Working very often at the kitchen table and less in my studio here |or here, this is all I need next to my iPad and laptop. 

I kinda like this way of decorating as it keeps my kitchen table 'empty', and at the same time I have everything at hand. Something so simple can make me really happyh :) And how about you.. are you up for some changes or maybe cleaning out your workspace as well?

Inspiration for your workspace | Origami paper basket | SOFFA #2

Some cool ideas for your workspace, found in the second issue of SOFFA. As an online lifestyle magazine based in Prague, Czech Republic, SOFFA is mainly focused on the region of Central and Eastern Europe. 

For this workspace they combined Scandinavian design like Hay, TineK and Ferm living along flee market finds. Inspiration for your home | Organizing your hallway

With winter on it's way our hallways will soon become the place again where all shoes, hats, thick coats and other stuff will end up first. So time to think about how to organize and maybe get some new ideas for your hallway.

The reason why I am showing the picture above are the knobs on the wall! Some years ago, when redecorating my own hall, I found out that the best way to organize is to just think of what 'irritates' you most and find the logical solution for it.

So if bags are laying on the floor.. Just simply add some knobs and hang them on the wall. Don't you like your shoes laying around, find a solution to store them away. Sounds easy but believe me it works! Here are some more organizing examples that I found that might be useful to you when redecorating or organizing.

Woonbeurs 2013 favorites | Magnetic wallpaper by Groovy Magnets

Like many other bloggers I attended the Woonbeurs last week! I walked around a bit, chatted with other bloggers and friends and tried to make some pictures of my favorites at the same time. I loved the styling with the black & white pictures in the stand of Groovy Magnets 

I wrote about this magnetic wallpaper before here |Blackboard wall and moodboard in one| and loved to see and feel it in real life. The wallpaper comes as chalkboard wallpaper or in any other color. But also with beautiful animal prints. A few magnets are included and ther is also a magnetic alphabet. How do you like it!

DIY for your home | How to attach a moodboard to your wall

For many of you it may be clear, but believe me I get many emails with questions on where to find images like I used here: Inspire and even more on how to attache them to the wall. So if you sent me a email about this, you were not the only one wondering...  

Japanese masking tape is great to vary with and play around with in our homes! And I do still love it but for me personally the big masking tape hype is a bit over as I have made so many boards with them. I still love to use a little black tape to maybe attach one or two simple images to the wall. But with making large picture walls I am back to where it all started, a simple tape loop on the back.

If you are looking for cool pictures to print out have a look at these black & white pictures I collected of people. Or maybe you also like to add a few nice quotes like these and some light pictures like you find here Anyway follow your feeling and add what you love most. Then make little loops with masking tape as showed below. Stick them to the back of the picture and start creating your own moodboard.

If you print the pictures on A4 sized paper, try not to use paper that is too thin as you might see the tape shine through like you see at some on the pictures in the moodboard in this post (I used black tape there) Enjoy and keep sending me your moodboards!

Marble and Milk | New &Tradition lamp

With this cute new little lamp from &Tradition (It's the Milk lamp in case you wonder why I called this post marble and milk ;) it was a good moment to add a bit of marble to my besta's. There are many marble trays for sale lately and I like them because they are great for styling. I thought it was fun to use the large piece I have. And am using it it here as a backdrop for some black accessories. I actually love this piece of marble.... it is heavy and I have it for ever

I normally use it in my kitchen, because marble is one of the best surfaces to use while making pasta fresca (fresh pasta) Yes! I am one of those who has a pasta machine and I love to eat a homemade ravioli. I am a food lover in general and as my kids are half Italian, you can imagine I made lots of fresh pasta on it. Strangely enough it used to be the top of my grandmothers night table. To bad you can't smell the black musc candle I got at Andreas Murkudis in Berlin.

For summer I thought Brigitte Bardot with her summer hat looks great but I am also loving the girl with the big eyes below, what do you prefer.

Easy DIY project for your home | origami book art

Did you noticed the 'comeback' of the origami book art again lately. Stylist Lotta Agaton used them in her styling work and we saw them earlier at the home of Therese Sennerholt, where Lotta did the styling. Origami isn't new of course, it has been there for ages. Sweet Paul did a project with books years ago, folding vases out of them. But I kinda like them when used in a contemporary interior or styled picture like the ones I am showing here.

Elv from the picture below told me she and her niece folded the pages of a book starting with the top and bottom of the pages and ending with folding the page in the middle of the book.? It's a nice way to decorate, to add a natural accent and to show something different to your bookcase or styled corners. Would you like to make one yourself? Facing North is also showing a nice tutorial for a different origami project.

DIY for your home | A simple 3D moodboard fo your wall.

Some weeks ago I printed out lots of pictures fom my Pinterest albums for a new inspiration wall to go with my Neon letters. I showed them the other day :Inspire | new neon letters. I was planning a new wall for ages. But due a lack of time, lots of work and travelling, I never got to hang them on my wall. Despite my love for travelling and the great opportunities and blogger fun I got and am very greatfull for. I also loved to finally get back to some playing aroud the home.

I just love to make all kind of different moodboards and I would love to see yours, so sent me your pictures! I'll make a long post with them and include yours. Just like I did when you sent me your blackboard walls and we had a blackboard weekend:blackboard weekend Are you up for a challenge??

Today I love to show you this moodboard and simple DIY idea by Marij of the My Attic blog. Ain't is beautiful! Happy weekend! 

For her bedroom wall she made this moodboard and instead of just adding the pictures to the wall, se used a couple of MDF panels and painted them in black before glueing some of the prints on them. I love the 3D effect she created this way. Pretty nice and really easy, but with a great impact don't you think?

INSPIRE | new neon letters

After a few busy weekends I finally had some time to hang my new neon letters to the wall this last Saturday. It seems like ages ago I bought them from my sponsor Heel Wit and I couldn't really decide where to hang them. I first wanted to put them up in the living, but I love to change things around including the lamps very often and decided to hang them in the hallway.

My hall is pretty large and at one point even bigger, you can easily add a table or some cupboards there. It is the place where I keep a part of my magazines and books on the floor. I have plans for ages with this little wall and when I have the time to go to IKEA I will buy some cabinets to add to the wall and use them to display books and magazines.

For he moment I added one of my tables and because I am not sure yet how many space the cabinets wil take up. I conected the letters onto a piece of MDF that I painted white. Adding them to the wall afterwards was really easy.

When I have finished the rest of the wall I will add them directly to the wall.... I love the look of the black electricity wire against the white. But I think they woud really look great on a black wall as well! What do you think? And more important. what do you think of the word I choose in Neon?

Black Feathers and Fluffiness

When making new pictures I finally managed to clean out my studio. I brought lots of souvenirs and brochures back from the city trips I made these last months. And I really should find another way to order everything. Remember the bags I made: Collecting travel memories | Easy DIY with paper bags They were fun to make but I need something stronger like small boxes. If you came across some cool ideas let me know, I would love to make a new post with your ideas on how to collect travel memories! 

I also found these shiny black feathers in a box which I bought years ago. Feathers are totally hot as decoration in interiors at the moment and I love how Lola & Kate framed them, they are for sale at Harvest and Company

Blackboard wall and mood board in one

There are blackboards and moodboards. I love them both a lot and it often happens I stick a note or a picture on my blackboard door with some tape. Nothing better then a blackboard wall with some drawings, some fade out words |Don't you just love the look of chalk that is partly erased| and some crispy white postcards or pictures.The wall above looks like a blackboard wall but actually is magnetic blackboard wallpaper by Groovy Magnets Pretty cool if you don't want to paint a wall if you ask me.
